Thankful Thursday #2
We have a lot going on in our house this week, so I'm crunched for time. Here are the top 5 things I'm thankful for this week! What are you thankful for??
1. I'm thankful for silly faces.
Especially from my 7-week-old, who is just starting to gain control over his body (including his cute, pudgy face). The cross-eyed look and the blue steel look are my absolute favorite looks of all time (if you have never seen Zoolander you probably have no idea what I'm talking about). Even as they grow older the silly faces always bring a smile to this mamma's heart... and face!
2. I'm thankful for nap time.
A chance to get stuff done ... like writing! Mostly house work, but sometimes writing. When I'm lucky.
3. I'm thankful for our puppy, Tinker.
She is Bubby's buddy. Wherever he goes, she goes. When we first moved into the "country" (it's a neighborhood, but with more trees and woods than houses surrounding us) Bubby was not too keen on leaving the yard. Now that he has Tinker he will disappear into the woods for hours on end! Don't worry, we always have an eye on him.
This is convenient for a mother of three. Giving him something to stay busy which does not involve electronics is a godsend (I LOATHE video games, but I'll save my rant on that for another time), especially when I have my hands full with the other two younger babes.
4. I'm thankful for a network of friends.
I'm not just talking about my blogger friends, although I'm super grateful for them too! I am continuing to learn through all of their advice and support. But this time, I'm more referring to the friends we hold in our real life. Whenever we're in a bind, no matter what the situation is we have always had a great group of friends to help us out.
Recently, we haven't had the ability to mow our own darn lawn because our lawn mower broke down and we've both been so busy. However, a friend of ours' father came over this morning with his own lawn maintenance company and did our yard for us. What a blessing! It may seem simple to the outside world, but I'm very thankful for that.
5. I'm thankful for my kids having fun! (<--this fifth one was suggested by Bubby, who is currently sitting by me and proofreading my post as I type it)
Well, yes, Bubby, I am very thankful that you kids are having fun. You are children and that's what you're supposed to do -- enjoy life! Find the fun in every situation. Use your imagination. Try to find the good in life and people. Be forgiving in all situations. Love your siblings, even your sister who can be a little annoying at times (he's laughing as I type this part about loving his siblings--hmmmmm). And most of all, always know that your mom and dad love you with all of our hearts! No matter what!
So, there are my 5 top things that I'm thankful for this week, with the help of Little Man. I'd love to hear what you are thankful for! Shoot me an email or comment them below.

Okay, so this isn't quite a silly face but it was adorable so I had to share anyway. |
