Thankful Thursday #3

I'm on a time limit today.  We have a lot going on in our house, this week, so I'm crunched for writing time.  Here are the top 5 things I'm thankful for, this week! What are you thankful for??

1. I'm thankful for silly faces.

Especially from my 7-week-old, who is just starting to gain control over his body, including his face.  The cross-eyed look and the blue steel look (if you have never seen Zoolander, you have no idea what I'm talking about--so watch it!) are my absolute favorite looks of all time.  But even as they grow older, the silly faces always bring a smile to this momma's heart... and face!

Okay, so this isn't quite a silly face but it was adorable so I had to share it, anyway.

Thankful Thursday #2

I'm so excited! Last week, I mentioned that I wanted to start a new thread, called "Thankful Thursdays," and since then I came across two link-ups that are perfectly relevant, "Ten Things of Thankful" and "The Little Things Thursday" (which, might I add, the host of The Little Things Thursday has impeccable taste when it comes to creating a title for her blog.  Just sayin'). If you don't blog then you probably aren't familiar with the term link-up. It's okay, because even though I've been blogging for years I have only recently been focusing on promoting my blog, and I only learned what a link-up was about a week ago.  But now that I know what it is, I can tell you that link-ups are the best thing since sliced apple pie.... or sliced bread, for you more traditional readers.

I'm going to leave the term link-up a mystery for ya'll, for now.  If you want to learn more about it, you can google it and find way more information there than what I could tell you.  Right now, I am writing on borrowed time -- the baby is napping, the toddler is watching Frozen (more like reciting it word-for-word), and the big bro is doing his math.   Let's do this!

1. I'm thankful for photos.

I'm such a picture freak (if we're friends on Facebook, you know this to be true).  I am constantly snapping photos of my children.  Bubba is now getting old enough to where he doesn't want his picture taken very often, but every once in a while I'm able to sneak him into a shot or two..

In fact, just because I want to and I can (because this is my blog, so ha!), I'm going to post a photo of my children under each thing that I'm thankful for. So there.

Song From The Nineties, "Closing Time," Is Not What You Think It is

I usually love songs from the 80's and 90's, but there are a few songs that always got on my nerves.  They were either overplayed or I didn't care for the lyrics (if you haven't figured it out, I'm a lyrical kinda girl).  One of the songs I couldn't stand was "Closing Time," by Semisonic.  It was always a very boring song to me.  The music was semi-pretty (maybe that's how they got their band name?) but the lyrics were just ... dull! They were singing about a bar closing!  What the heck?! And the words just kept repeating, over and over and over again ...

Clever, Blue Guy. Very clever.

Thankful Thursday

"The more forgiveness I share in my heart and the less bitterness I harbor, the more freely I live in my days."

I’m hoping to start a new segment in my blog, called “Thankful Thursdays.”  We’ll see how successful I am at getting posts written in time each week, but at least I’m off to a good start!

Reconsidering Our Wedding Vows

Wedding Vows, Photo Courtesy: www.karensdilbeck.com

Have you ever truly stopped to think about your vows, or did they leave your mind almost as quickly as they left your lips on the day of your wedding?  I’ll be honest.  I have never deeply pondered those words until recently. I didn't feel like I needed to. I knew I loved my husband and wanted to spend the rest of my life with him, so I assumed that the vows we made would be easy.
